How we pick our Products

It is a work of love and hard yakker by all the team at City Organics to bring to Hobart and to you the safest and the best and fairest products available in Tasmania , Australia and the world.

We seek out producers and companies that are both ethical and passionate about their products and/or who also give back in some way. We do our best to vet all our products for safety and quality. so that in our store you don't need to analyse the labels to check out if there are any nasties. We already have done it. Very occasionally some products with questionable ingredients may slip through the net, but once discovered we make every effort to investigate ingredients' and if  necessary to stop stocking the product. It is not an easy task, as nowadays so many producers are jumping on the lucrative bandwagon by falsely advertising their products as natural, organic and safe when they are not, so we take our job seriously.

  • As a member this system will allow you to receive member prices when you present your card.
  • Member prices apply to some but not all products - perishables are mostly excluded.

Japanese Products ? Radiation post Fukushima

Thanks to Garry for the once over with the Gieger Counter!

One of our customers has been into the shop with a gieger counter that he borrowed to check our products for radiation. In paticular the Japanese Products.

He checked all the Japanese Products in detail and then continued to check the whole shop for radiation.

Clean bill of health for everything.

It is nice to have confirmation that our "healthy" products from Japan are indead healthy.

Not sure if the gieger counter that checked out shop over for radiation looked like this one pictured, as I was not here, but hey doesn't this one look cool.
