Nazeer Henna Information
NAZEER PURE EGYPTIAN HENNA
NAZEER PURE EGYPTIAN HENNA is first and foremost a wonderful Natural Conditioner. It revitalizes hair, especially hair damaged by illness, chemical abuse, sun, or chlorine.
Used for centuries, NAZEER HENNA gently adds body and texture, highlights and accentuates hair colour, while adding a hard shine. It achieves this by plating each strand of hair with a natural protective coating, coloured (if desired). Henna molecules have a chemical affinity to Keratin (hair) molecules, allowing the pigment to pass freely into the hair The cuticle is then smoothed by the Henna’s sealing action, leaving the hair polished and glowing. The hair is then protected from atmospheric conditions (sun, air pollution, salt water etc.)
It is important to note that Henna has no lifting action. This means it cannot lighten hair colour. No natural substance can!

COVERING GREY HAIR:
All NAZEER HENNA’S except BLACK and CLEAR will cover grey hair. Remember, the lighter grey hair will become a lighter red or honey caramel depending on the percentage of grey. It is advised to ALWAYS add LEMON JUICE (2-3 LEMONS) and PURE GROUND COFFEE (2-3 tablespoons) to the Henna when covering grey. This will intensify the depth of colour and MINIMIZE THE BRIGHTNESS. Unless, of course, the brightness is desired.
HENNA (Lawsonia Inermis) 100% PURE EGYPTIAN ORGANICALLY GROWN
Lawsonia Inermis is a small shrub containing Lawsone which produces a natural dye. The crushed leaves, stem, bark and root are blended to produce the colours of NAZEER HENNA.
NAZEER HENNA contains NO CHEMICALS, additives or other ingredients. No names or strange numbers to decipher. JUST PURE EGYPTIAN HENNA!
NAZEER HENNA is PURE EGYPTIAN HENNA and is of a quality unfound elsewhere in Australia. Most locally available product appears to originate in Iran or India where it seems the quality of the raw product is inferior. These products usually need chemical enhancement by the addition of Metallic Dyes or, particularly worrying Phenylenediamine, or other additives such as Indigo.
As NAZEER HENNA contains no chemicals, it is safe to use over Tints, Perms or other chemical treatments. The colour will fade gradually over a period of 8 to 9 weeks. A strand test is always recommended for first time users. All packs contain instructions for use.
Each batch of NAZEER HENNA is tested on human hair and quality is guaranteed. NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS and contains no animal ingredients. We are proud to have earned accreditation by CHOOSE CRUELTY FREE and appear in their list of clean products.
NAZEER HENNA is blended and packaged in Australia with the environment in mind.
HOW TO USE NAZEER HENNA
AVOID METAL UTENSILS
Use a 100gm bag of NAZEER HENNA on hair to shoulder length. Two bags are recommended
for longer hair. The hair must be well coated for best results. There need be no waste. If too much henna has been mixed, use what is needed and let the balance dry out. It can be reconstituted with more henna and water at a later date.
Use rubber gloves and apply a protective cream to the hairline as henna may stain your skin.
As NAZEER HENNA contains no chemicals, there are three important components that ensure its success: HEAT, MOISTURE, and TIME
Add BOILING WATER and LEMON JUICE (2-3 lemons) to the HENNA and mix well to a
Smooth paste. The amount of water required will vary with each batch of henna. It needs to be:
PUMPKIN SOUPISH! Or about the thickness of YOGURT!
Set aside for about 4 hours (even overnight) to activate. Reheat. Henna applied to wet hair will loose essential HEAT.
Wash hair with shampoo only, no conditioner (the henna IS a conditioner), and DRY the hair.
Apply henna to the head as hot as possible, without burning the head, of course. Paint henna paste on the hair from the roots to the ends. If mixture starts to cool, sit the bowl in a pan of hot water, or microwave to reheat. Hair MUST be well coated for best results. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and then a towel. It MUST be kept as warm as possible. DO NOT APPLY HEAT FROM A HAIR DRYER. The longer the henna is left on, the more intensity and depth to the end result. Two to three hours minimum is recommended, especially for first time users.
Rinse well, it is helpful to add some conditioner working it into the henna to help lift it off. Shampoo and condition as normal. The HENNA will continue to oxidize and colour will INTENSIFY and get more depth over 3-4 days.
Add around three tablespoons of ground coffee (not instant) to the henna powder. This will minimize and reduce red tones. Especially recommended when covering grey. Also, most helpful to Black Henna.
Substitute the water for boiling, strongly brewed tea. This will help bring out Golden Highlights, whilst toning down any red-orange.
Substitute the water for boiling beetroot juice. This will add Aubergine and Burgundy tones to the Red Hennas.
To highlight, condition and accentuate Blonde Hair, especially sun bleached or chemically bleached hair, use boiling Chamomile Tea or Lemon Juice (about 2 Lemons) with Clear Henna.
DRY AND DAMAGED HAIR
A whole Egg, Olive Oil (2-3 teaspoons), Yogurt added to the mix work well. These natural ingredients not only assist with conditioning, but also help with the application and removal of the Henna from the hair.
